Kinder Drama

Ages: 3-7
Day: Saturdays
Time: 9:30-10:30am
Begins: Saturday, March 24
Ends: Saturday, May 12
Course Length: 8 weeks
Registration: $175 +HST

Imagination takes center stage in our Kinder Drama classes. This program is a great introductory drama experience that allows children to develop speaking skills and creative expression.Children to gain confidence while having fun and making friends. Students will develop muscle memory as they learn basic body movement & choreography in a Musical Theatre song. A great course for kids who are learning to come out of their shell as well as those hams at the dinner table! Family and Friends are invited to attend the final class where budding actors showcase their scenes. Register Now


Acting Improvisation Course (Beginner & Intensive)

Ages: 8-15
Intensive: Thursdays 6:30pm – 9:00pm
                    & Saturdays 10:35am – 12:45pm
Beginner Fee: Thursday or Saturday $295 (1x week)
Intensive Fee: $425 Begins: Thursday, March 29
Course Length: 9 weeks + 2 theatre performances

Students will participate in a collective & creative acting process from scene to stage creating their own version of Fame! Under the direction of the Instructors, students will create their final performance from class sessions. They will learn new improv games, create new characters, learn to say “YES” & build confidence!  Every performer will have an opportunity to shine on stage with costumes & make-up under the lights at the Maja Prentice Theatre, Mississauga. Performances: May 25 & 26,  2012

Film & Television Workshop

Ages: 5-11yrs Time: 10:30am-2:00pm

Learn how to act for Film & television and the differences of theatre acting. Learn what do “on set”.  Workshop through real scripts from TV shows, movies & commercials. In this one day workshop, Film Actor David Reale will teach kids & teens how to audition for film & television. Scenes will be video-recorded and password protected online for your studying purposes. *Includes 30 min. Q & A session for parents & kids explaining the process of getting started in the business, how to find a good agent & create a resume.

Acting Intensive Course (Currently underway)

The Lion, The Witch & The WardrobeFriendly audition required

Ages: 7-15
Begins: Sunday, January 8
Performances March 2 -4, 2012
Maja Prentice Theatre
Course Length: 8 weeks + 2 performances

 

In this challenging & Intensive 2x week course, we will be casting leading & supporting roles for 2 casts (A & B) They will rehearse together for January, then divide for the month of February. Students will learn how to create a character using archetypes, laban movement as well as dialect coaching – Standard British Accent (RP). Instructor Lauren Shepherd MFA Hons. Strengths developed: discipline, risk taking, character development, confidence.

All casts will have their initial read through together on Sunday, January 8th from 1-5pm.
